Die Sendung mit einem Wert von über 17.000 Schweizer Franken wurde am Zollamt Singen auffällig, nachdem Beamte Unstimmigkeiten in der Rechnung festgestellt hatten. Der Fall flog während der sogenannten "Schwarzen Woche" auf, einer Phase mit verschärften Zollkontrollen. Mitarbeiter des Hauptzollamts Singen (HZA-SI) prüften eine Rechnung eines Schweizer Maschinenbauunternehmens. Obwohl die Ware als "kostenlose Güter" ausgewiesen war, stellten die Ermittler fest, dass die Artikel einen tatsächlichen Marktwert possessed. According to German regulations, duty-free samples must either be clearly marked as non-commercial goods or be limited to a maximum of five pieces per product category, with a maximum value of 50 Euro per group. For the Swiss company, the case ended with a customs payment of approximately 3,800 Euro. The customs authorities once again emphasized that all imports - regardless of their designation in invoices - must comply with the applicable regulations. Companies sending samples to Germany are urged to inform themselves about the rules to avoid similar penalties.
